Tour Plan

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will brief you on your safari. Afterward, embark on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park, located in the eastern part of Rwanda. This park is known for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. Check in at Akagera Game Lodge, where you will spend the night.

Start your day early with a full day of game drives in Akagera National Park. The park is home to a variety of animals, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and numerous antelope species. You will have the opportunity to explore the different ecosystems within the park, from savannas to wetlands, and enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild. Return to Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southwestern part of Rwanda. The journey takes you through the picturesque countryside and rolling hills. Upon arrival, check in at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel, offering stunning views of the surrounding tea plantations and forest. Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge.

Begin your day with a thrilling canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest, one of the few canopy walks in Africa. This 90-meter-long bridge offers breathtaking views of the forest and its wildlife. In the afternoon, embark on a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Led by experienced guides, you will trek through the forest to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. Return to Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for Volcanoes National Park in the northern part of Rwanda. This park is renowned for its population of mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes, including terraced hills and rural villages. Upon arrival, check in at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

Today is the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. You will then set off on a guided trek through the forest in search of a mountain gorilla family. Spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Return to Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s Great Lakes, located on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Enjoy a relaxing day exploring the scenic wonders of Lake Kivu, including boat rides, swimming, and visiting local fishing villages. In the afternoon, transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for last-minute shopping or a city tour before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
