Tour Plan
Begin your trek from the Nyakalengija trailhead after registration. Hike through the tropical montane forest, home to a variety of birds and primates. Arrive at Nyabitaba Camp after approximately 5-6 hours of trekking. Overnight at Nyabitaba Camp.
Continue your ascent, crossing the Mubuku River and climbing through the bamboo zone. Pass through the giant heather and lobelia zones before reaching John Matte Camp after about 6-7 hours of hiking. Overnight at John Matte Camp.
Trek through the Bigo Bog, navigating the challenging terrain using a series of planks and boards. Ascend to Bujuku Camp, surrounded by stunning alpine scenery, after about 5-6 hours of trekking. Overnight at Bujuku Camp.
Climb through the alpine zone, passing the breathtakingly beautiful Lake Bujuku. Continue to ascend to Kitandara Camp, nestled beside the picturesque Kitandara Lakes, after about 6-7 hours of trekking. Overnight at Kitandara Camp.
Begin your descent, trekking through the Freshfield Pass and descending through the heather and bamboo zones. Arrive at Guy Yeoman Camp after about 6-7 hours of hiking. Overnight at Guy Yeoman Camp.
Continue your descent from Guy Yeoman Camp to Nyabitaba Camp for lunch. After a brief rest, complete the trek down to Nyakalengija, the starting point. The total descent time is approximately 7-8 hours. After arriving, you will be picked up and transferred back to your hotel or the airport.
